In honor of Abraham Lincoln's birthday today, I thought I'd post a picture of one the Lincoln-related activities at the Johnsburg Library.
The picture is from a Jan. 30 patriotic crafts program at the library. Celebrating Abe Lincoln's 200th birthday are: (left to right) Lauren Scalise, Gabrielle McKenna, Sophie Blea, Lucas Frasch, Lorenzo Roehrich, John Nash, and Mary Nash.
Lorenzo Roehrich's family has also loaned to the library an original copy of The New York Herald published on the day after President Lincoln was shot. The paper can be viewed in the library's display case.
If you'd like to see the newspaper for yourself, visit the Johnsburg Public Library at 3000 N. Johnsburg Rd.
