Three Cary residents were among the 70 people who recently shaved their head at a St. Baldrick's Foundation event last week.

Matthew Zarate, 20, Brittany Zarate, 19, and Michael Zarate, 17, all joined in the event, which raised more than $3,000 for the organization. The event was held at Bradley University.

St. Baldrick's is a fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family.
