Bike rodeos planned

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

Lake in the Hills is planning several bike rodeos in May to promote bike safety.

At each event, experts will inspect bikes for unsafe conditions and register them with the police department in case they are lost or stolen.

Children can ride their bikes through an obstacle course designed to test their riding skills.

All bike rodeos are free and do not require pre-registration. Each will take place from noon to 2 p.m.

Here is the schedule:

May 2: Lake in the Hills Elementary School, 519 Willow St.

May 9: Ken Carpenter Park, Miller and Randall roads

May 16: Lynn Dillow Park, 4155 Springlake Drive

May 23: LeRoy Guy Park, 201 S. Lakewood Road

May 30: Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Road
