Savoring every moment

I can't believe I am approaching the one year birthday of my fifth angel, Nykko Daniel. I feel like I just started blogging about his birth and its influence on the rest of the family.

On July 5, he will turn one. I just realized it when I was making my weekly list for baby stuff. You know, diapers, formula, etc., and I just stood there for a moment. I looked at my husband and we both had that hallmark moment, "awwwww."

First, the formula goes and you switch to real milk. Then you switch out the carrier for the new carseat facing front.

Nykko had his first slice of pizza the other day, cut into many small pieces so he could savor it even more. There were no faces made at all, just grunting for more! Yeah, sounds like one of ours. The time just went so fast. I can remember the exact moment he arrived, and how I felt, and the recovery from the C-section. Now, little Nykko is already going into the swimming pool. Another thing he loves to do
almost immediately after the first time we did it.

This child just adapts to everything and we love it, but it is moving so fast. It made us look at the others and I realized my twins are going into second grade, which means they will be making their communion. My sons already have picked out their tuxes for this occasion, by the way. Gyanni, my 6 year old, is going into first grade. He came out of school with a T-shirt they got in class proclaiming, "I am a first grader." Yes, I cried!

Mykal-Angelo is starting kindergarten already, and I realized then how fast things are going. I am trying to savor every moment and take millions of pictures of those stupid moments that you know you will end up appreciating later. I've tried not to miss any of their games, because you never know when the one game you miss will be their best one and you will regret it forever.

My son Dymitri had a soccer game on Saturday during the huge rainfall, and I found myself praying it would not be cancelled because I love watching him play. I love it so much I also videotaped it with my husband holding an umbrella over me.
