Edwards earns fifth pole of the season

Carl Edwards, who ran the 16th qualifying lap on Saturday afternoon, earned the pole for tonight's Nationwide Series Dollar General 300, running a 176.956 m.p.h. lap.
It is Edwards' fifth pole this season. Brian Vickers, who will start at the pole position tomorrow during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Lifelock.com 400, will start in the second position tonight.
