Fundraiser for McHenry girl Friday

McHENRY - A fundraiser will be held for Shannon Sauer and her family from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the McHenry VFW Hall, 3002 W. Route 120.

Money raised from the event will help support Sauer, a 12-year-old McHenry girl awaiting a heart transplant.

The $10 admission fee includes draft beer, soda and appetizers and children are welcome. There also will be raffle prizes and karaoke.

Those who can’t make the event still can donate to the Shannon Sauer Benefit Fund, which has been set up at First National Bank, 612 S. Route 31, McHenry.
