Pierzynski wants more

White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski matched his home run total from 2008 with a two-run shot Monday, but he said he was not satisfied with his season at the plate.

"This year, I'm kind of disappointed with where I'm at," Pierzynski said after Monday's game. "If you look at my RBI total, they're way down this year, and it's been very frustrating. I've had some chances and just haven't gotten it done. I just need to relax in those situations. I think I'm just trying too hard."

Pierzynski is hitting .314 with 13 home runs and 36 RBIs this season. He hit 13 home runs and drove in 60 RBIs in 134 games last season.

The Royals could help Pierzynski boost his RBI totals over the next two games. Pierzynski is hitting .568 (.21-for-37) with two home runs in his past 10 games against Kansas City.

"I feel good with where we're at," Pierzynski said. "I feel good with the year I'm having. But you can always look at things and say this could be better or that could be better."
