To be a freshman
It's almost time for school. During a recent volleyball camp, a hundred or so freshmen wandered the hallways, attempting to plan the most direct route from class to class.
However, as I watched them walk feverishly about with their schedules trying to find the hidden study hall room, I wondered why society looks down upon poor freshmen.
Shunned in 9th grade ourselves, we find it necessary to become those who shun as we make the transition between underclassmen to upperclassmen. So why do we tease? Is it because they're on new terrain, in new territory?
We’re all new at something in our lives at one time ... is it necessary to make it such an incredibly big deal?
