White Sox-Red Sox preview

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

The White Sox have played every team in the American League except the Boston Red Sox, whom they face for the first time Monday.

The White Sox kick off a four-game series Monday night at Boston's Fenway Park. The Red Sox have won the season series for six consecutive years against the White Sox, although the South Siders swept Boston in the 2005 AL Division Series playoffs.

For another shot at the playoffs, the White Sox will have to string together a strong road trip against Boston, New York, Minnesota and the Cubs. The Sox finished with a disappointing 7-8 record in their past 15 games against Cleveland (1-2), Seattle (1-2), Oakland (2-1), Kansas City (2-1) and Baltimore (1-2), who have a combined .434 winning percentage.

At 63-61, the White Sox are 2 1/2 games behind Detroit in the AL Central race.

Here is a look at the probable pitching matchups for this week's series. All games will be broadcast on the radio at WSCR-AM 670.
