Officials from Panda Express have expressed interest in opening a new eatery along Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

Company executives asked the Crystal Lake City Council Tuesday for exterior facade changes to accommodate building changes at 5260 Route 14, at the Bohl Farm Marketplace.

The Crystal Lake Planning and Zoning Commission voted 6-2 in August to approve some of the proposed plans for the restaurant.

However, the city council didn't vote on the request Tuesday. The matter has been postponed, but could be back in front of the council Tuesday, Sept. 15.
