A McHenry County College student group is hosting a seminar with a panel of experts aimed at separating fact from fiction in the ongoing debate about health care reform.

The Student Peace Action Network seminar, “Health Care Reform Bills: Truth and Fiction,” is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at McHenry County College Conference Center, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

Panel members include Jane Hansen, a family nurse practitioner; David Borris, a small business owner and member of the Illinois Main Street Alliance; Dr. Hal Snyder, a volunteer organizer with Health Care for America Now; and John Gaudette, director of Health Care for America Now.

The Illinois Main Street Alliance began as a coalition of small business owners interested in “affordable health care for all,” according to its Web site. Several businesses in both McHenry and Woodstock are members of the group.

Health Care for America Now is a national organization also dedicated to affordable and accessible health care, according to its Web site.
