Bears seek redemption

Yes, Bears coach Lovie Smith has watched film of last season's blowout by the Packers to prepare for Sunday's season opener at Green Bay.

"I was wondering how long it would be before that game was brought up," Smith said.

The Packers thumped the Bears, 37-3, at Lambeau Field in 2008. Packers running back Ryan Grant rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 23 of 30 passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns against the Bears defense.

"We’ve watched that game quite a bit," Smith said. "And yes, you can [learn from it]. That’s what happens when you’re not really ready to play. I didn’t have our football team ready to play that game. We’re working on that. We’re looking forward to having a chance to redeem ourselves."

The Bears practiced in full pads Wednesday at Halas Hall. Defensive lineman Israel Idonije was limited in practice because of a sore hamstring, but cornerback Charles Tillman participated in each of the drills. Tillman's status for Sunday remains uncertain.
