This fall season, Huntley High School will explore "Into the Woods."

The musical features several 9th and 10th grade cast members directed by Nancy Cross, Tom George and Karen Miller. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 8 to 10 and 3 p.m. Oct. 11 at the high school's Performing Arts Center, located at 13719 Harmony Road in Huntley.

"Into the Woods" combines the well-known fairy tales of Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Little Red Riding Hood with the story of the Baker and his Wife who desperately want a child. Unfortunately, the Baker and his Wife have been cursed with childlessness by a witch and must perform various missions involving the characters in the other fairy tales to break the spell.

Once the characters have accomplished their goals; however, they learn about the pitfalls of greed and gluttony. They also discover the need for community and family when they must unite to fight against someone who has decided to come back for revenge.

Tickets for the show cost $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and students with a school ID. Tickets can be purchased online at www.district158.org/pac or by calling 847-659-6515.
