Bears rookie Johnny Knox was named the NFC's special teams player of the week Wednesday.

Knox returned three kickoffs for 147 yards, including a 102-yard touchdown run to start the second half in Sunday's 48-24 win against Detroit. The rookie from Abilene Christian leads the NFL with an average 35.8 yards per kickoff return this season.

Knox's 102-yard touchdown run marked the second longest kickoff return in Bears history. Gale Sayers returned a kick 103 yards on Sept. 17, 1967, against the Pittsburgh Steelers to set a franchise record.
