Two Bears doubtful for Sunday

It appears unlikely that Bears running back Adrian Peterson and linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer will be healthy enough to play Sunday night against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Bears listed Peterson and Hillenmeyer as doubtful in the team's injury report released Friday afternoon. Nick Roach expects to start at middle linebacker in place of Hillenmeyer once again, while the team's lone backup at running back without Peterson is Garrett Wolfe.

Bears coach Lovie Smith would not say whether the team would add a third running back to its active roster to replace Peterson before Sunday's game.

"Have we made a decision?" Smith said. "Yes, we have."

But don't expect him to share that decision two days before kickoff.

"Sunday, we’ll show up, and we’ll unveil it then," Smith said.

Here is a look at the injury reports for both teams:

BEARS
Doubtful – Adrian Peterson, Hunter Hillenmeyer
Questionable – Anthony Adams, Israel Idonije, Pisa Tinoisamoa
Probable – Tommie Harris

FALCONS
Out – Antoine Harris
Questionable – Ovie Mughelli, Brian Williams
Probable – Marty Booker, Jason Elam

Besides Peterson and Hillenmeyer, Smith said he expected everyone else on the Bears to be healthy enough to play. That includes Idonije, who had arthroscopic surgery on his knee less than two weeks ago. Smith described Idonije as a "warrior."
