Alden-Hebron area plans Thanksgiving Eve service

ALDEN – The annual Alden-Hebron Community Thanksgiving Eve Service will be hosted this year by Alden United Methodist Church.

The service will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 25 at the church, 16532 Route 173.

The whole offering will benefit Alden-Hebron Area Food Pantry, with matching funds added by Thrivent Financial.

The Rev. Diana K. Otterbacher, host pastor, will serve as liturgist; the Rev. Paul Gerardy of Hebron United Methodist will give the Thanksgiving address; and the Rev. Sarah Wilson of St. John’s Lutheran Church will present the children’s message.

Hebron Postmaster Dan Guttschow will read the president’s 2009 Thanksgiving proclamation.

Music will be led by pianist-organist Dr. Thomas A Tufo. Elisabeth Marshall will sing “Thanks Be to God,” Christine Cisko will sing “Bless this House,” and Dean Palya Jr. will perform a violin solo, “Traumerei” by Schumann.

Refreshments will be served after the service.

The public is invited.
