Spezza lifts Senators in shootout

OTTAWA (AP) – Jason Spezza scored the winning goal in the shootout for the Ottawa Senators, who came from behind twice to beat Edmonton, 4-3, on Tuesday night.

Bruins 3, Penguins 0: At Boston, Boston’s Tim Thomas stopped 27 shots for his second shutout of the season, and the Bruins defeated Pittsburgh.

Wild 5, Maple Leafs 2: At Toronto, Mikko Koivu had a goal and two assists as Minnesota ended Toronto’s two-game winning streak.

Flames 1, Canadiens 0: At Montreal, Miikka Kiprusoff got his first shutout of the season, Jarome Iginla extended his goal-scoring streak to four games, and Calgary defeated Montreal.

Blues 6, Canucks 1: At St. Louis, David Perron scored three goals, Brad Boyes added a goal and three assists, and St. Louis defeated Vancouver.

Sharks 4, Predators 3: At San Jose, Calif., Dan Boyle scored with a minute left in the third period to lift San Jose past Nashville.
