Palin: I knew Couric interview went badly

CHICAGO – Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin suggests that she recognized quickly that she’d done badly in her interview with CBS anchorwoman Katie Couric.

In a written excerpt of an interview scheduled to air Monday on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Palin said that even as campaign advisers told her she’d done well, she knew better.

That interview with Palin – then Sen. John McCain’s running mate – was seen as a major event in the campaign.

Critics seized on it as evidence that she wasn’t qualified to be president if something were to happen to McCain.
