Marian Central Catholic High School plans open house Sunday
WOODSTOCK – Marian Central Catholic High School will host an open house Sunday.
The open house at the school, 1001 McHenry Ave. in Woodstock, is a chance for students and families to learn about what a faith-based education has to offer.
The event begins at 1 p.m. with an administrator presentation in the auditorium. The building will be open until 3 p.m., offering opportunities to speak with teachers, tour the facilities, and discover the benefits of a Marian education.
Marian celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. In 2010, Marian plans to break ground on a new addition that will add eight state-of-the-art science classrooms-laboratories and a new chapel.
Marian’s enrollment is about 730; typically about 97 percent of graduating seniors go on to higher education. Marian’s class of 2009 received more than $8.1 million in college scholarships.
Of the 168 graduates, 41 were Illinois State Scholars, six were National Merit Commended Scholars, and one was a National Merit semifinalist and finalist. The 2009 class earned a mean ACT score of 24.1.
