Suspect sought in Alden robbery


ALDEN – McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man who robbed an Alden store Friday night.

The suspect walked into the Alden Quick Mart, 16420 Route 173, shortly after 7 p.m. Wearing an orange ski mask and sunglasses, the man brandished a black gun and demanded money. He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, McHenry County Sheriff Sgt. Daniel Patenaude said.

Investigators believe the suspect was about 5-foot-10 with an average build. He was dressed in a dark green hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head. The suspect had on black gloves, jeans, and white gym shoes.

No one was injured during the robbery.
