McHenry Police to receive community service award
The McHenry Police Department will receive the 2010 Community Service Award at the Family Service & Community Mental Health Center Annual Community Service Awards Celebration.
McHenry police officers receive specialized training in a variety of areas, and since 2005 this has included continuing education to recognize and help individuals who may need mental health care.
"Family Service and the McHenry Police Department are truly in partnership as each agency is committed to excellence. We are grateful to be working with the officers and staff of the Department. Their work is compatible with our mission of "Helping People Help Themselves," said Ed Rickert, vice president for Mental Health at Family Service.
The event is at 6 p.m. March 6 at D'Andrea's Banquets at 4419 US Highway 14 in Crystal Lake. Tickets are $100 and include dinner, dancing and an open bar. To reserve tickets or for more information about the banquet call Family Service Marketing Director Geri Davis at 815-669-2550.
