Synergy: The Illinois Library Leadership Initiative 2010, the statewide library community's movement to develop future Illinois library leaders, has selected Elizabeth Steffensen to participate in the 2010 session.

Steffensen has served as the head of information services at the Huntley Area Public Library since 2003.

"I'm excited that Elizabeth was selected for the program," Library Director Patrick McDonald said in a news release. "She will further develop skills that will help the library continue to meet the needs of the community, and it will be a great experience for her personally."

Participants must apply for inclusion in the program and must have a masters degree in library science. Additionally, the applicants must show leadership skills and commit to completing the 2010 Synergy program.

Only 30 applicants are selected for the program each year from across the state.
