Heineman presents "The Wizard of Wonderland"
Did you ever wonder what would happen if Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz" met up with Alice from "Alice in Wonderland?"
Attendees can find out during next week's "The Wizard of Wonderland" comedy play, hosted by Heineman Middle School.
The play unfolds when a young man named Judson (Anthony Morales) puts off a book report until the last minute and suddenly finds himself in a strange place somewhere between Oz and Wonderland.
His responsibility is to then unscramble the plots and steer the familiar characters – the Cowardly Lion (Gabriel Nieves), the Mad Hatter (Sadie Buckles and Jordan Strong), the Scarecrow (Madison Paez and Kora Rea), and the White Rabbit (Brooke Vege), among others – to their ultimate destinations. But they must escape the Tulgey Wood before the Wicked Witch of the West (Hannah Thompson) and the Red Queen of Hearts (Shannon Walsh) get to them first.
This adventuresome play takes a modern twist on the traditional stories and is filled with laughter and surprises at every turn.
The character of Dorothy will be played by Larissa Urban and Tia Morser will portray Alice.
Join the cast and crew, along with play directors Shannon Edgar and Cathie O’Malley, for an entertaining evening on Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13 at Heineman Middle School, 725 Academic Drive, Algonquin.
Performances begin at 7 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door and cost $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.
