Moore joins Lake in the Hills public works department

LAKE IN THE HILLS – The village of Lake in the Hills soon will have a new person to fill the role of deputy public works director and airport manager.

T. J. Moore is slated to start Monday in the job, Lake in the Hill’s Public Works Director Fred Mullard said. He is replacing Dave Gregoria, who left in December and moved to Florida.

Moore, who will earn about $92,000 in the role, recently was the public works director in East Dundee – a position he held since August 2005.

“He’s moving to a larger community, and he brings with him a lot of experience that will be useful here,” Mullard said.

He admitted that Moore doesn’t have a lot of background in airport management, but the village plans to train him in that.

“Finding someone who has both public works and airport experience is a very difficult task,” Mullard said. “[So] you have to select someone who has a good ability to learn and take on new challenges.”

Moore also has worked in Bensenville and Highland Park.
