CL South student finalist in scholarship contest

Hope R. Olson, a senior at Crystal Lake South High School, is a finalist in the "Framy My Future" scholarship contest sponsored by Church Hill Classics, a Connecticut company that sells diploma and other document frames.

Olson could win a $1,000 college scholarship if she is one of the top five vote-getters in the online contest. The contestant receiving the most votes will receive an additional $1,000 for his or her college's scholarship fund.

Olson plans to study interior architecture and design. She learned of the "Frame My Future" scholarship through an online search, said her mother, Joan Olson.

"The students were to submit an original creation that represents what they want to achieve in their personal and professional life after college," Joan Olson said. "There were over 9,000 submissions from across the country; Church Hill Classics narrowed the field and announced their 24 finalists on April 5. Hope is one of them!"

Voting will continue until 9 a.m. May 5.
