We are blessed in McHenry County with so many great social service agencies and charitable organizations. These groups help us, our families, friends, neighbors and communities in good times and bad. Please show your support for these groups through the inaugural “Human Race” collaborative fundraiser hosted by the United Way of McHenry County Volunteer Center.
The “Human Race” is a 5K (3.1 miles) race/run that will benefit 37 McHenry County charities. The race will be held on April 16 in McHenry. The “Human Race” provides charities of all sizes a way to raise funds for their organization with one combined event.
There are so many ways you can support the “human race.” My first suggestion would be to go to mchumanrace.org. Look at the list of the 37 McHenry County agencies participating. I believe you will find your favorite local charity. Maybe one that has touched you, directly or indirectly.
From there, you can register to run/walk for your charity and help them raise funds. Or you can support the charity or runners/walkers of any of these organizations. You can join a team with your co-workers, friends, favorite charity, or participate on you own. You can also volunteer to help on the day of the event. There are so many ways you can help. I encourage you to be an important and meaningful part of the “human race.”
