Buckley Road Country Band

WHO ARE THEY?: Eight-member band playing “Rock’n country music.”

How did the band get its name?

We named ourselves Buckley Road Country Band because we practice every Sunday afternoon just off of Buckley Road in Libertyville.

Who are the members and what instruments does each play?

Katie Klein - female vocalist

Chris Bradley - male vocalist, lead guitar

Steve Clough - male vocalist, acoustic guitar

Bob Haraden - fiddle, mandolin, backup vocals

Joe Eucolono - steel guitar, electric guitar, banjo

Paul Durand - bass, backup vocals

Ralph Colao - drums

Kurt Disch - sound mixing

What towns are each of your band members from?

Katie Klein - Woodstock

Chris Bradley - Libertyville

Steve Clough - Waconda

Bob Haraden - Libertyville

Joe Eucolono - Gurnee

Paul Durand - Gurnee

Ralph Colao - Libertyville

Kurt Disch - Round Lake

How did the band get started?

Bob Haraden, the fiddle-player, and Joe Eucolono, the steel guitar player, decided, with these two instruments, we could form our own band by “filling in the pieces.” We ask our friends we knew or played with in the past in other bands. Each member had to be was a great musician and a clean-cut professional.

Describe the music you play.

“Rock’n country music.”

What makes your act different?

The female voice of Katie Klein singing the latest country songs from Gretchen Wilson to Shania Twain. Chris B. and Steve C. add the “rock’n country” male vocal songs. The band combines an array of musical instruments and talents to make the solo parts to each song sound unique. Country music is more layered than common rock ’n’ roll. We understand the dynamics, harmonies and solos of each original female and male country song.

Who are your biggest influences?

Because the band is so large, each person draws upon their own individual influences. This creates a lot of different influences, making us unique.

Why should people come see you?

Because live cover country music is difficult to find. We play fast, fun, dancing-heavy rocking country. It’s pure clean country. We played Cubby Bear North in February, a concert sponsored by US99 and had their largest crowd.

What is the best thing about being a musician?

Entertaining the crowd and keeping them energized. Once they are energized and dancing, there is nothing better.
