Man to serve 7.5 years for sexual contact with minor

ST. CHARLES – A Chicago man was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison for having sexual contact with a Carpentersville girl younger than 13 years old.

Victor M. Ponce, 33, pleaded guilty Friday to one count of criminal sexual assault in Kane County Circuit Court.

Between November 2001 and March 2009, Ponce had sexual contact with a girl he knew. The activity took place at the girl’s Carpentersville home, prosecutors said.

After Ponce’s prison term, he will have to register as a convicted sex offender.
