Tickets will go on sale noon Saturday to see Jane's Addiction play a pair of rare shows at Chicago's Metro, 3730 N. Clark St., Sept. 24-25.
The dates are part of the alternative rock band's series of "launch shows" for its new album, "The Great Escape Artist." The album is due out Oct. 18. Jane's Addiction also is playing back-to-back shows in New York and Los Angeles as part of the three-city promotional run.
Tickets for both Chicago shows are $35 each with a four-ticket limit. Sales will only be online. Doors for both shows, which are 18 and over, open at 8 p.m. Shows are at 9 p.m. No opening act has been announced.
"The Great Escape Artist" will be the Jane's Addiction's first new studio album in eight years. The band's current lineup includes frontman Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and Chris Chaney on bass. Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio plays bass on the upcoming album.
A video has been released for one of the album's songs, "Irresistible Force."
Jane's Addiction played two shows at Metro in November 1988 to celebrate the release of their breakthrough album "Nothing's Shocking." The album yielded the songs "Mountain Song" and "Jane Says."
