Illinois EPA hosts Lake County turbine hearing
GRAYSLAKE (AP) – Illinois Environmental Protection Agency officials and representatives from Countryside Genco will present an overview and answer questions on Tuesday about a plan to install turbines at the company's gas-to-energy facility at the Countryside Landfill.
Countryside Genco has requested a state permit to install four turbines at the landfill on Illinois Route 83 in Grayslake. They would replace six smaller ones currently in use.
The presentation will be at 7 p.m. at the Grayslake Community High School auditorium.
Written comments on the project may be directed to the EPA until Nov. 8.
