Rep. Jackson expects to be cleared in ethics probe
KANKAKEE (AP) – Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. says he'll be "vindicated" in a U.S. House Ethics Committee probe.
The committee is investigating whether Jackson, or someone on his behalf, offered to raise funds for former Gov. Rod Blagojevich in return for an appointment to the Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama.
Jackson spoke Saturday at a dinner for the Kankakee County NAACP. During the address the Democrat said he believes in the American system of justice and believes he'll be cleared.
