WOODSTOCK – Twenty seniors from Woodstock High School have been named Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC).
“Illinois State Scholars represent the best in educational excellence in Illinois,” said John Sinsheimer, ISAC Interim Executive Director. “The Commission applauds their success and salutes their families and the teachers at Woodstock High School on this achievement.”
Illinois State Scholars rank in the top ten percent of high school seniors from 773 different high schools across the state, and have SAT, ACT and/or Prairie State Achievement Exam scores that meet strict selection standards.
This year’s Illinois State Scholars from Woodstock High School are: Vokamvila Ahmeti, Jacob Baier, Christian Baker, Isabel Bridzinski, Jennifer Dillon, Kara Dwyer, Stephanie Goldberg, Andrew Hughes, Emma Kamps, Alexander Karolczak, Alexandra Krueger, Dennis Kubiak, Dana Lewellyn, Sarah Lohmeyer, Stewart Montgomery, Christine Orndahl, Devon Ruhde, Timothy Semmen, Cyndy Spice and Marlena Wojcik.
Each student will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the ISAC for their accomplishment. They will also be formally recognized at the high school’s Honors Banquet and Senior Awards Assembly next spring and by the District 200 Board of Education. While the program does not provide a monetary award, the Scholars are encouraged to cite the award on applications for college admissions and scholarships.
