Library to offer tutoring, job services

HUNTLEY – A donation from the Huntley Area Public Library Friends Foundation has allowed the Huntley Library to renew the popular tutoring service HelpNow and add a new service for job seekers called JobNow.

JobNow offers live interview and job skills coaching, a résumé lab, 24/7 access to career resources, and an adult job skills learning center, according to a news release from the library.

The HelpNow tutoring service offers students of all ages homework assistance and preparation for standardized tests, such as the ACT and SAT.

Working one-on-one with a live tutor who helps students understand the underlying concepts they are studying, students receive free assistance with subjects from math to English.

“People who have used HelpNow consistently indicate they’ve had a very positive learning experience,” Library Director Patrick McDonald said in the release. “We expect the JobNow service to receive the same positive reviews from users.”

The donation allows the library to offer both of these services to all residents with a Huntley Area Public Library card free of charge.

To begin taking advantage of these free resources, visit the library with proof of residency to get a free library card, or log in with a current library card number at www.huntleylibrary.org.
