At the Algonquin Area Public Library's annual Employee Recognition and Awards Event in December, the library recognized 11 individuals who have between five and 15 years of service.

ALGONQUIN – At the Algonquin Area Public Library's annual Employee Recognition and Awards Event in December, the library recognized 11 individuals who have between five and 15 years of service. Their combined service totals 105 years.

Director Lynn Elam and Library Board President, Lynn Hammerlund, presided over the ceremony and presented the awards, a library news release said.

Each employee's manager recognized his or her staff member's accomplishments with words of affirmation, humorous anecdotes and heartfelt appreciation, according to the release.

Five year service awards were given to Heather Madson, Carrie Merchant and Deborah Finkler.

Ten year recipients were Keiko Kephart, Laura Flynn, Koren Power, Alicia Parmele, Vicki Roberts and Catherine Bulla.

Fifteen year awards were presented to Denise Devers and Debbie Miller.
