Suitcase causes bomb scare on Randall Road
ALGONQUIN – Officials with the Algonquin Police Department and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Unit cordoned off part of a parking lot in the 800 block of Randall Road for what ended up being an empty suitcase.
“We’re ... happy it turned out to be nothing, but it’s always best to be cautious,” said Sgt. Paul Riese of the Algonquin Police Department.
Algonquin police responded at 1:47 p.m. Monday to a report of a “suspicious” suitcase near a shopping cart corral near several center stores, Algonquin Police Department Public Information Officer Chris Filippini said.
