Wall, Wizards stun Thunder
WASHINGTON – John Wall scored 25 points, Nick Young had 24 and Jordan Crawford added 18 to lead Washington to a 105-102 victory over Oklahoma City on Wednesday night, snapping the Thunder’s seven-game winning streak and giving the Wizards their second win of the season.
Russell Westbrook scored 36 points and Kevin Durant had 33 for Oklahoma City, which lost for only the third time in 15 games. During one stretch bridging the second and third quarters, the duo accounted for 21 of the Thunder’s 23 points. Both slowed down after resting at the start of the fourth, missing 11 of 17 from the field.
After the Wizards missed their first six three-pointers, Young hit four and the team made seven of 10 in the third and into the fourth.
Durant missed a potential tying 3 with 1.9 seconds left.
Nuggets 108, 76ers 104 (OT): At Philadelphia, Andre Miller scored a season-high 28 points, Nene had 20 points and 14 rebounds, and Denver outlasted Philadelphia.
Miller scored Denver’s last 10 points in regulation and got another big basket in overtime. His jumper put the Nuggets ahead, 106-104, with 42.9 seconds left. Miller then made a steal on Jrue Holiday’s errant pass to seal the Nuggets’ fourth consecutive win.
Spurs 85, Magic 83 (OT): At Orlando, Fla., Tony Parker scored 25 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter and overtime, and San Antonio held on to beat Orlando.
Tim Duncan added 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Spurs also snapped a streak of 10 consecutive road losses overall, dating to last season.
Nets 107, Warriors 100: At Newark, N.J., Deron Williams scored 24 points, 11 coming in crucial stretch of the fourth quarter, and had 10 assists and eight rebounds, leading New Jersey to its first home win.
The Nets entered the fourth quarter trailing 83-80, then took control with a 12-5 run. Williams had five points in that stretch, including a three-pointer that made it 105-96 with 3:26 remaining.
Suns 91, Knicks 88: At New York, Steve Nash had 26 points and 11 assists, Shannon Brown hit a crucial three-pointer, and Phoenix snapped a five-game losing streak.
Brown and Grant Hill each scored 14 points for the Suns, who bounced back from an embarrassing 118-97 loss a night earlier to the Bulls, who were playing without Derrick Rose.
Celtics 96, Raptors 73: At Boston, Rajon Rondo scored 13 of his 21 points in the first quarter and left with a sore right wrist in the third, and Boston cruised past Toronto to end a five-game losing streak.
Rondo was knocked out of the game after being leveled on a flagrant foul by Linus Kleiza late in the third quarter, but the Celtics were just fine without him.
Grizzlies 93, Hornets 87: At New Orleans, Marc Gasol had 22 points and 12 rebounds to help Memphis win its fourth consecutive game.
Mike Conley hit four three-pointers and finished with 18 points and 10 assists for the Grizzlies, who had five players score in double figures while sending the Hornets to their fifth straight loss and 11th defeat in 12 games.
Timberwolves 93, Pistons 85: At Minneapolis, Kevin Love had 20 points and 17 rebounds, and Minnesota overcame a dreadful start to slug out a victory against Detroit.
Anthony Tolliver had 11 points off the bench and shut down Tayshaun Prince in the fourth quarter to help Minnesota to its third win in four games.
Hawks 92, Trail Blazers 89: At Atlanta, Joe Johnson scored 24 points and came up with a key defensive play down the stretch, leading Atlanta to its fourth consecutive victory since losing All-Star center Al Horford.
