Library offers social network series

McHENRY – The McHenry Public Library will offer two adult programs on social networking this month and in February.

“Effective Social Networking for Your Job Search” will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

This program shows job seekers how to showcase their qualifications and expand their network, and how headhunters and hiring managers post jobs and recruit through their connections.

The social media sites LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, as well as blogs and how they can help with your job search, will be discussed.

“Expand Your Professional Network Using LinkedIn” will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 29 and focuses on LinkedIn as a networking tool to identify key contacts, build relationships, demonstrate credibility and learn insider information to grow one’s career.

Presented by April Williams, a nationally recognized speaker, author and coach who has assisted hundreds of people in career transition, these programs are free but require registration either in person at the library at 809 N. Front St. (Route 31), online at www.mchenrylibrary.org or by calling 815-385-0036.
