PISTAKEE HIGHLANDS – Firefighters were called at 7:56 a.m. today to a house fire at 811 Annabelle St. in unincorporated Pistakee Highlands, northeast of Johnsburg.

The fire was on the porch of the home and was quickly doused on arrival of an engine from the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.

Battalion Chief Mike Majercik said a neighbor reported the fire, which he said was small enough that he was able to put it out with an extinguisher. The home's sole occupant, a man in his 60s, was transported to Centegra Hospital - McHenry after exhibiting some signs of disorientation, Majercik added.
