CHICAGO – The White Sox are set to sign left-handed starting pitcher Scott Olsen who attended Crystal Lake South and graduated in 2002.

Although ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick tweeted Olsen has signed with the team, the paperwork has not been completed and the deal, which is for a minor league contract, is not yet official.

Shoulder problems plagued Olsen, 28, last season in his first with the Pirates and they released him in May. In six big league seasons, Olsen is 37-49 with a 4.85 ERA.
