Missing child of homicide victim located
RACINE, Wis. (AP) – Police in Chicago have located the missing 2-year-old girl whose mother was found dead in their Racine, Wis., home. Authorities say the child's father has been arrested.
A child abduction alert had been issued for the girl and her 25-year-old father after officers found the child's mother dead about 11 p.m. Tuesday in Racine.
Chicago police spokesman Robert Perez says the girl was found unharmed and the father was arrested at a south side residence shortly before 6 a.m. today. Perez says officers were checking the address of a relative provided by Racine police.
Racine Sgt. Marvin Pavilonis says the father is a person of interest in the death of the child's mother. He says the death of the 27-year-old mother is being investigated as a homicide.
