Think spring at gardening event at Harvard library

HARVARD – By the end of February, the seed and plant catalogs are landing in mailboxes and souls are longing for some green stuff, flowers and even the smell of rain-wet dirt.

Get ready for planting season at 2 p.m. Feb. 25 at Harvard Diggins Library when experts from Countryside Nursery of Crystal Lake will stop by and give us “the dirt” on the latest goodies for gardens or flower bed.

Topics will include what’s hot in the flower realm, what veggie is the new king, and improvements in gardeners’ favorite plants. The event is free. The library is at 900 E. McKinley St., Harvard. For information, call 815-943-4671 or visit
