Rangers streak past Flyers

PHILADELPHIA – Ryan Callahan scored three goals and the New York Rangers beat Philadelphia 5-2 on Saturday for their seventh straight win over the Flyers.

Marian Gaborik and Artem Anisimov also had goals for the Eastern Conference-leading Rangers, who broke out of their power-play funk and improved to 5-0 against the Flyers this season.

It was a rare display on special teams that catapulted the Rangers to their second victory over Philadelphia in seven days. New York had a season-high three goals on the power play.

The Rangers increased their lead to six points over the Flyers in the Atlantic Division and have two games in hand.

The Rangers entered with the fourth-worst, power-play unit in the NHL, converting just 13.4 percent of their chances.

Panthers 3, Devils 1: At Newark, N.J., Scott Clemmensen stopped 27 shots against his former team, and Florida beat New Jersey.

Bruins 4, Predators 3 (SO): At Boston, Tyler Seguin and Patrice Bergeron scored shootout goals to lift Boston over Nashville.

Penguins 8, Jets 5: At Pittsburgh, Evgeni Malkin added to his NHL-leading point total, scoring a goal and dishing out four assists as Pittsburgh rolled past Winnipeg.

Islanders 2, Kings 1 (OT): At Uniondale, N.Y., Mark Streit’s goal 1:36 into overtime lifted New York over Los Angeles.

Oilers 4, Senators 3 (OT): At Ottawa, Taylor Hall scored 17 seconds into overtime, and Edmonton snapped a two-game losing streak by beating Ottawa.

Lightning 2, Sabres 1: At Buffalo, N.Y., Steven Stamkos had a goal and assist, and resurgent Tampa Bay beat Buffalo for its seventh win in 10 games.

Canadiens 5, Maple Leafs 0: At Toronto, Carey Price turned aside 32 shots, and Montreal hammered Toronto after the Maple Leafs retired the famous No. 13 of longtime former captain Mats Sundin.

Blue Jackets 3, Wild 1: At St. Paul, Minn., R.J. Umberger scored two goals, one on a power play with 21 seconds left in the second period, to send Columbus over stumbling Minnesota.

Blues 3, Avalanche 2 (OT): At St. Louis, Carlo Colaiacovo scored 3:18 into overtime to give St. Louis a win against Colorado.
