Mother charged in death of toddler
CALUMET PARK – First-degree murder charges have been filed against a woman in connection with the 2011 death of her toddler son.
Marles Blackman, 37, of Midlothian was arrested Wednesday in Calumet Park for the death of Lavandis Hudson.
Authorities say the child was pronounced dead in July 2011 at Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. An autopsy determined the 2-year-old died of multiple blunt force trauma injuries due to child abuse.
