County pertussis cases now number more than 300
WOODSTOCK – The number of reported pertussis cases has continued to climb, albeit slower than it did during the initial outbreak.
Pertussis cases in the county now number more than 300. In January, there were 273 cases.
As of Friday, there were 313 reported pertussis cases, with 156 reported among children 10 and younger. There were two hospitalizations of infants 2 months old, but both have since recovered, McHenry County Department of Health officials said.
