McCullom Lake Police to step up holiday patrol

McCULLOM LAKE – The McCullom Lake Police Department announced Friday it will participate in the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over/Click It or Ticket crackdown.

The department will conduct special patrols during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday period to curtail impaired drivers, as well as daytime and late-night safety belt law violators.

Officers will conduct extra patrols during the peak hours starting Monday through Saturday, Police Chief Zachary Beatty said in a news release.

The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over/Click It or Ticket crackdown is made possible through federal traffic safety funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.
