Our view: More courts allow cameras

We’re encouraged by the quick expansion of a pilot program that is allowing cameras in some Illinois courtrooms.

We’re hopeful that the 22nd Circuit Court here in McHenry County will soon jump on board.

Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas Kilbride got the ball rolling in January when he announced that he and his fellow justices agreed to support the news media’s use of cameras and microphones in courtrooms on a trial basis.
