County’s libraries enter new chapter of evolution

When the Tyranski family visited the Huntley Area Public Library on March 29, the family members weren’t there to read or check out books.

They were among the more than 30 children and parents who wanted to see a duck in a diaper and other animals in the show “Roxanne and Her Amazing Animal Friends.”

McHenry County’s libraries have evolved from a storage place for books to a dynamic community resource. Their services target all age groups and range from online tutoring programs to classes for improving job searches.
