CRYSTAL LAKE – One of two occupants of a vehicle that led police on a chase and snarled traffic early Tuesday along Route 31 was arrested in connection to a theft investigation.

Eduardo L. Garcia, of Elgin, was taken into custody near the intersection of Route 31 and Shady Oaks Lane, where he and the other occupant left their vehicle and fled on foot. McHenry Police are still in pursuit of the other occupant.

Leading up to Garcia's arrest, McHenry police officers had spotted the pair leaving a closed business on the 1200 block of Adams Drive in McHenry. Upon investigation, police determined the two had just stolen electric motors from the business.
