Woodstock slaying-related trial date set

WOODSTOCK – A trial date for a woman linked to the slaying of a former court security officer has been set for Nov. 5.

Charges against Kimberly A. Smith, 29, include prostitution and obstructing justice.

Police have said that the victim, 48-year-old Kurt Milliman of Prairie Grove, responded to an online ad for sex and a dispute broke out, possibly over money.

Smiths’ husband, Timothy S. Smith, allegedly shot Milliman in the Smith’s Woodstock home.

Timothy Smith was to be tried on murder charges May 7, but the date has been postponed until July 30.

Interim status dates for both defendants have been scheduled for July 2.
