LITH woman charged with biting dog in domestic incident

LAKE IN THE HILLS – A Lake in the Hills woman was charged Sunday with animal cruelty after police said she bit her mother's English bulldog at least three times. The dog bit back once, in self defense.

Police arrived about 4 a.m. at 311 Village Creek Drive, Apt. 2C, Lake in the Hills, after neighbors called police to report screaming and pounding coming from the apartment, said Lake in the Hills Police Sgt. Mark Smith.

Inside 2C, police said Analise J. Garner, 19, had gone into a drunken fit scratching, hitting and biting her mother and then turning on the family's pet.

"Police saw at least three bite marks on the dog," Sgt. Smith said. Garner reportedly chomped on the dog's back and shoulder area.

"The dog bit back and bit her on the left arm," Smith said.

Garner was charged with domestic battery, domestic battery of an assaulting and provoking nature, underage consumption of alcohol by a minor in addition to the charge of animal cruelty.

She was transported to McHenry County Jail.

Her bond is set at $3,000.

She appeared in court Monday and is scheduled to appear again Wednesday, May 23.
